Congratulations to Dr. Peter Sharis, our Head Coach for Y Quad Cities Junior Rowing! He has been named Junior Women's Sculling Coach of the Year, AGAIN!
This is his 4th year in a row being awarded this title by the Saratoga coaches at the annual US Rowing Conference.

2018 was special for Coach Sharis and the team with a historic win at the Henley Royal Regatta in England. Y Quad Cities Junior Rowing Women’s Quad brought home the Diamond Jubilee Challenge Cup! They set a course record twice and beat several teams on their home water. This is the first time the USA has won this event! This was followed by a ten page story in the August edition of Rowing Magazine about Coach Sharis and the team.

He also had a club record of 10 gold medals at the Midwest Regional in May 2018 which qualified 8 Y Quad Cities Junior Rowers for the US Rowing Youth Nationals. That event brought them a club record, three gold medals (women’s quad, double, lightweight double), and one silver medal (men’s double). Y Quad Cities Rowing traveled across the border in August to the Canadian Henley and snagged two gold medals in the Women’s Sculling U19 double and U23 double events. There were many other victories over the season, but these were the highlights and the reason Coach Sharis received a fourth Coach of the Year honor!
