Since 2005, the Two Rivers YMCA Caring Tree program has helped nearly 1,000 families in our community during the Christmas holiday season with our members' generous acts of giving gifts.
Every year, we display a Christmas tree in our lobby with tags that members can pull and use to purchase gifts unique to that child. (The child's name is kept private).
Gifts are then wrapped by YMCA staff and volunteers and presented to families. With COVID restrictions and guidelines we will have a drive through pick up for gifts at the the Spirit, Mind and Body Center from Wednesday, December 22nd - Thursday, December 23rd.
HOW TO GIVE
The Caring Tree will be displayed at the Two Rivers YMCA starting November 23rd.
- Pick a tag off the tree Don't lose track of the tag.
- Start shopping! (using the information on the tag to help you choose a few gifts for the child)
- Return the gifts by Thursday, December 16th to the Y with the child's Caring Tree Tag attached to the shopping bag. Please do not wrap the gifts.
YMCA staff and volunteers will then organize and wrap the gifts for each child.
Monetary gifts are also accepted and can be given to the front desk or mailed in to the Y with attention to Jeff Cornelius.
