Two Rivers YMCA youth sports programs teach fundamentals and build character through the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Whether it’s gaining the confidence that comes from learning a new skill or building the positive relationships that lead to good sportsmanship and teamwork, participating in sports at the Y is about building the whole child, from the inside out.

We have various sports programming available throughout the year for kids age 3 through middle school.  Click on one of the Sports Seasons below to register.

UPCOMING SPORTS SEASONS
 

Pickleball

Grab your paddles and lets play some pickleball!  Not sure how to play, we'll teach you during this fun activity for kids to experience the game of Pickleball.  Session take place at the Rock Island YMCA.

Dodgeball

Join us for a fast-paced and fun game of dodgeball. We'll mix it up with different version of the game and some creative new twists on the old favorites.

Boxing

This no contact beginner class will teach youth basic boxing moves while incorporating listening skills and a fun way to burn off some energy!

Basketball League

Begin your basketball where future stars are created!  Parents are encouraged to help coach teams, WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!  Scrimmages will be held at Moline/East Moline YMCA Large Gym on Saturdays, with NO weekday practice.

There will be divisions for boys and girls if enrollments allow.  We will combine if not.  Registration does include a t-shirt.

Kickball

Come and play the great game of kickball with your friends at the YMCA. Staff will lead players through kickball drills like base running and kicking, followed by a scrimmage. 

When: Wednesdays in July
Fee: $25 Members / $50 Community

Football Fundamentals

This program will meet outside on the YMCA athletic field where YMCA coaches will focus on skills, drills, and fundamentals of football. Academy will meet once a week on Wednesdays. 

When: Wednesdays in June

Volleyball League

Develop game-specific skills that include serving, passing, setting and hitting. A great fit for both beginners and those who are looking to increase skill.  WE NEED PARENTS TO VOLUNTEER COACH!

Ages: 8-14 years
Fee: $30 Members / $60 Community

Season begins July 15th, no practices, just Saturday games.

Dance/Ballet

This class introduces ballet terminology and follows a traditional ballet class format, but without barre work. It includes warm-up, basic ballet steps, center movement, simple choreography, and free dance time.

Summer Sports Clinics

Jr. High Boys Basketball Camp

Participants will spend the first half of camp each day being coached through a variety of different drills to improve individual skills and the second half will be dedicated to scrimmaging and contests.

When: August 14th - August 17th

Grade School Basketball Clinic

Come learn the basics of basketball in our 4-day Basketball Clinic! Players will do drills to improve passing, dribbling, shooting, defense, as well as scrimmage!

When: July 24th - July 27th

Come learn the basics of soccer in our 4-day Soccer Clinic! Players will do drills to improve passing, dribbling, shooting, and more!

Come learn the basics of baseball in our 4-day T-Ball Clinic! Players will do drills to improve throwing, catching, batting, fielding, baserunning, and more!

Learn to Row

Join the group for an introduction to the sport of rowing.  This month-long program will give you basic skills to move to the next level of our rowing program.  This program is designed for juniors and adults that want to learn how to row.  A swim test is required within the first week of the class to participate without a life jacket.

When: Thursday Sessions each month
Time: 5:00pm - 7:00pm

Fitness Fighters

Introduce your kids to fitness with this high energy group class! We will have a blast working with weights, kettlebells, medicine balls, and more all while being guided by a personal trainer who will build enthusiasm about fitness and teach technique and form!

What are the Y's typical sports seasons?

We strive to keep our diverse listing of sports activities up to date by season. Our sports program places activities in the following seasons:

Which sports do you offer as leagues?

Our sports leagues consist of:

  • Basketball (Winter, Summer & Fall 2)
  • Soccer (Spring & Fall 1)
  • Volleyball (Spring & Summer)
  • Tee-ball Coach Pitch Baseball (Summer)

We may at times place a new activity in our program selections through out the season

How old does my athlete need to be to participate?

We offer activities from ages 3 up to age 14.

For our youngest athletes, ages 3-6, we offer activities referred to as "academies".

After registering, when will I hear from the Y or Coach with details?

As a family, you should hear from the YMCA via email within 5-7 days prior to the program begin or start date.

How can I help or serve as a volunteer coach?

The YMCA is always seeking wonderful parents/guardians to serve as volunteer coaches for our sport league programs.

To apply as a volunteer coach:

  1. Please indicate on your child's registration your intention to serve as a coach
  2. Then proceed to our Volunteer page and complete the application process under the volunteer oportunity titled "Youth Sports Coach Volunteer". This application takes about 10-15 minutes to complete in its entirety.
